Neck, Low Back and Joint Pain
Upper extremity pain is based on presence of hand, wrist, or finger pain. Participants are first asked if they have experienced pain or aching in any joints on most days for at least one month in the past year. Those who answer affirmatively are then asked about location of pain. Reports of pain in the hands, wrists, or fingers are coded as presence of upper extremity pain.
