Gait device

The Dynaport device is a small, light-weight whole-body sensor (Dynaport MT, McRoberts, The Netherlands) that is worn on a neoprene belt placed on the participant's lower back above the sacrum in the midline at the level of anterior iliac crest. The device includes a triaxial accelerometer and triaxial gyroscope and records activity in three acceleration axes (vertical, mediolateral, anterioposterior) and three angular velocitiy axes: yaw (rotation around the vertical axis), pitch (rotation around the mediolateral axis), and roll (rotation around the anterioposterior axis).

The device records continuously during the sequence of mobility tests for each participant. Data are saved on a secure digital card at a sampling frequency of 100 Hz. The data is then reviewed by a research coordinator before being uploaded to a secure server for storage.

Prior to 2016, gait measures were collected using the Dynaport Hybrid device (McRoberts, The Netherlands).
