TDP-43 stage
TDP-43 pathology - 4 stages (8 regions)
As of 03/2019, this variable replaces tdp_stage4.
TDP-43 immunohistochemistry was performed on 8 brain regions using phosphorylated monoclonal TAR5P-1D3 (pS409/410; 1:100, Ascenion, Munich, Germany) TDP-43 antibody. In 2015, this antibody was obtained from MilliporeSigma, Burlington, MA (1:400). Since 2019 this antibody has been obtained from BioLegend, San Diego, CA (1:10,000).

Presence of TDP-43 cytoplasmic inclusions in neurons and glia are determined for each region (yes vs. no), and four stages of TDP-43 distribution are recognized:
