Motor and gait is a composite measure of global motor function calculated using the following items:
- Purdue Pegboard Test (no. of pegs)
- Finger-tapping test (taps/10 seconds)
- Time to cover a distance of 8 feet (1/seconds)
- Number of steps required to cover 8 feet (1/no. of steps)
- 360 degree turn time (1/seconds)
- Number of steps to complete a 360 degree turn (1/no. of steps)
- Leg stand (seconds)
- Toe stand (seconds)
- Grip strength (pounds)
- Pinch strength (pounds)
Each motor performance is scaled by dividing by the sex-specific mean from all participants at baseline and then averaging all the scaled motor tests together.
