Anemia
Anemia calculated from hemoglobin using WHO criteria

Anemia is calculated from blood hemoglobin based on sex-specific World Health Organization (WHO) criteria. Hemoglobin is measured with a complete blood count performed by Quest Diagnostics. See the routine laboratory tests subcategory description for blood sample collection and analysis procedures.

Males are deemed anemic at a specific visit if their value of hemoglobin is (strictly) less than 13 g/dL; females are deemed anemic if their hemoglobin is less than 12 g/dL.
